Large antique oak dresser top, wall shelves with central door. I'm pretty sure that the bulk of this is quite early: 1800 or even late 1700s possibly, with later additions. The back is plywood so that's obviously much later, early 20th century; the door looks like it might be Victorian; the cornice round the top likewise. Anyway, it makes no odds to the price: it's just an observation. Lovely shaping to the vertical edges on this and a good patina. Originally it was the top to a base but would make a great wall shelf, or could go on another base. The back board would easily come off if not wanted. There's a working lock and key. Condition is not bad structurally: it's solid enough and doesn't flex; some of the fiddly shaping at the front has been repaired and others are a little delicate, though acceptable. The ply backboard was done fairly rudimentally: there's a gap at one end (see pics) and the back layer has flaked off in parts, out of sight though. It's barely attached at the bottom but it's not really an issue once it's in situ. Cosmetically there's lots of bumps and scrapes, as expected (and perhaps desired) in a piece this age. A couple of chips in the cornice. Dimensions: 195cm x 21cm x 134cm high
